Overview & Essential Job Functions

Position Summary:


The Bin Shop Lead is responsible for the management of inventory and bin shop operations. For the purpose of maintaining a smooth, and safe operation between shop, and operations on a daily basis. Maintain proper inventory levels to ensure employees have enough material to continue working without interruption. Assist personnel on loading trucks to minimize yard wait time.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Estimates material and labor needs on jobs.
  • Manages welding supply and material needs.
  • Coordinates activities of employees in the welding area.
  • Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment in accordance with Company policy, and equipment is in proper operating condition.
  • Reports to Operations Manager for daily work assignments. 
  • Maintain all yard, and shop areas clean, and free of safety hazards
  • Follow all required safety policies and procedures. 
  • Perform cycle count reporting to ensure that the facility maintains the correct supply levels.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned. 
  • Plan, and execute safety, and productivity goals.
  • Monitor, and reprimand all employee unsafe actions to include PPE worn at all times, equipment safe to operate, etc.

Qualifications & Environmental Demands

Required Qualifications:


  • High School diploma or GED. 
  • Bilingual English / Spanish.
  • Valid Driver License Class A/B
  • Minimum of 1 year of prior related experience in a shop environment. 
  • Acts in a professional, courteous and cooperative manner toward customers and co-workers; works with a sense of honesty and trustworthiness. 
  • Good time management skills to ensure assigned responsibilities are completed in an efficient and safe manner. 
  • Good follow through ability; ability to adhere to work schedule and follows through on challenges as they arise. 
  • Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules set forth; promotes the Company's safety standards; does not take inappropriate risks. 
  • Maintains a feeling of pride in work; strives to achieve all goals.
  • Exceptional communication skills and computer knowledge.
  • Forklift certified.
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • 1+ years in a supervisory or similar role and inventory control.
  • Waste and/or transportation industry a plus
  • Welding knowledge (Tig, Mig, Arc, Stick, etc.) preferred

    • Eye/hand coordination continuously.
    • Standing, walking, handling (holding), balancing, bending, crouching, kneeling, pushing, & reaching frequently.
    • Sitting & wrist motion occasionally.
  • Environmental:
    • Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, noise, grease, oil, hot/cold temperatures, & vibration continuously.
    • Exposure to electrical hazards, chemicals, standing on concrete, and uneven or slippery surfaces frequently.
    • Works inside & outside.
