Overview & Essential Job Functions

Position Summary:


The Employee Relations (ER) Manager will report to the Vice President of Human Resources and will be in charge of facilitating employee relations and solving human resource issues on behalf of the Company. The ER Manager handles employee situations with a focus on conflict resolution in a fast-paced environment. They maintain good communication and positive relationships with employees to promote employee satisfaction. Identifies and analyzes issues with employee relations infractions and provides recommendations for resolutions to employee relations issues. 


Essential Job Functions:

  • Counsel and advise managers in interpreting and applying policies and procedures to resolve issues related to recruitment, compensation, disciplinary action and conflict resolution
  • Manage the investigative process for internal complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other high-risk employment issues
  • Analyze employee relations trends while providing periodic detailed reports, and propose methods to improve problematic trends after careful research
  • Ensure services are in compliance with professional standards, state and federal regulatory requirements and laws
  • Monitor budget, utilize operational resources, and participate in HR policy development
  • Identify, design, implement, and manage employee engagement surveys and programs
  • Manage the selection, training and development of Human Resource staff in regards to employee relations
  • Represent the management at meetings that involve employee relation issues including discipline
  • Use proper leadership skills to motivate team members to achieve company objectives within deadline
  • Represents the Company in a professional manner at all times with employees, vendors, suppliers, etc., and performs other job related duties as assigned

Qualifications & Environmental Demands

Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent level of experience, training and education
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience at a management or senior administrative level with emphasis on employee/labor relations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office applications; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Ability to work extended workdays, weekends, and travel locally as needed to support business needs
  • Exceptional verbal/written communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge in labor laws and engaging workforces
  • Extensive knowledge in investigative reporting and conflict resolution
  • Experience in building positive employee relations programs
  • Experience in designing and implementing surveys and employee relations programs
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with Management and/or Human Resources Team
  • Ability to proactively travel to different company facilities on a regular basis
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree
  • PHRM / SPHRM Certification
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
