Overview & Essential Job Functions

Position Summary:


The IT Senior Application Developer is responsible for using programming languages and development tools to build new or modify existing applications reporting directly to the IT Manager.  These applications may be web portals/sites, mobile apps, and custom utilities.  They may also develop data integration tools to facilitate data transfer to/from legacy applications.


Essential Job Functions:

  • Design and develop applications to meet business and user objectives
  • Participate in the development process from user specification to end-user training
  • Generate feature and user workflows to verify design prior to development
  • Setup and maintain an intranet portal
  • Develop customer/client facing web applications
  • Develop mobile apps
  • Develop a cross function intranet
  • Build and maintain custom applications to maximize business efficiencies
  • Document change requests, maintain a change log, and generate training manuals
  • Create test, integration, and production deployment schemes
  • Perform user acceptance testing prior to deployment
  • Maintain source code

Qualifications & Environmental Demands

Required Qualifications:


  • 5+ years in a professional Application Development role with the following skills:
    • Expert knowledge of development technologies such as PHP, Java, JavaScript, XML, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS.
    • Strong working knowledge and experience with configuring and deploying web servers such as Microsoft IIS and Apache
    • Strong working knowledge and experience with libraries/frameworks such as jQuery, Bootstrap, WordPress.
    • Strong working knowledge and experience with development tools such as Visual Studio, IntelliJ, and Eclipse.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintain attendance to support required quality and quantity of work
  • Maintain confidentiality of Company information
  • Establish and maintain positive and effective work relationships with coworkers, clients, members, providers and customers
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. 

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Accounting/Finance or related field or equivalent experience
  • Strong ability to develop intuitive User interfaces
  • Experienced in Photoshop
  • Experience with legacy AS400 systems (RPG/RPGLE a plus)
  • Waste and/or Transportation experience

    • Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, & noise occasionally.
    • Exposure to grease, oil, chemicals, & wet conditions occasionally.
    • Works inside only. Position considered office only.
