  • Overview & Essential Job Functions

    Position Summary

     

    The Preventative Maintenance Technician reports to Maintenance Manager & Maintenance Supervisor. Perform all types of oil changes and routine lubrication maintenance on any type of equipment (Dozers, Loaders, Compactors, Graders, Excavators Backhoes, etc.) and trucks. Dismount and mount any type of tire on trucks and trailers. Determine repairable tire conditions and make such repairs. Match mating of dual wheel assemblies and inflate to prescribed psi. Perform weekly tire and brake inspections and document results and recommend replacement when needed. Perform maintenance tasks on each site to: signs, doors, buildings, fences, gates storage racks etc. as needed by site supervisors and managers. Inventory oil filters, tires and other supplies.

     

    Essential Job Functions

    • Performs basic preventative maintenance, services, tires while maintaining and inspects equipment to ensure a safe and ongoing operation
    • Completes all repair orders and paperwork, as needed.
    • Communication with Site supervisors and managers

    Qualifications & Environmental Demands

    Required Qualifications

    • Valid Class C driver license.
    • 2 - 4 years of mechanical related experience and/or received technical training.
    • Must be able to read, understand operating manuals and maintenance instructions for vehicles being serviced.
    • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Bilingual English / Spanish
    • Trade School certification
    • Strong communication skills
    • CDL Class A / B with air brake endorsement
    • Computer diagnostic skills

    Physical/Environmental Demands:

    • Physical:
    • Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, & smelling continuously.
    • Problem solving, oral communication, analytical ability, concentration, exposure to heavy machinery, & eye/hand coordination, & handling continuously.
    • Bending, reaching, stretching, crouching, & lifting ≤ 50 Lbs. continuously.
    • Exposure to unprotected heights occasionally.

     

    • Environmental:
    • Exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, grease, oil, chemicals, wet slippery surfaces, hot/cold conditions, & noise continuously.
    • Works inside and outside.
